What is the difference between Web Design and Web Development?

While many people use these terms interchangeably, there is substantial difference in skill level which is the important difference. Web Design vs Web Development. Web Design is all about the front-end of a website and creating a first impression for customers. It is the design of the website, including everything from the color scheme and layout to the navigation and content.

Web Development, on the other hand, includes all the programming that takes place on the backend of the website. This includes, internet marketing, the coding of all the pages, applications, and functionality needed that will turn your website into a working website.

When does the development phase start?

The website development process starts as soon as you approve the proposal and have paid your deposit. I will start working on the backend of your site immediately. I will begin by completing an initial page and then, move on to appearance and functionality. I’ll keep the same look and feel to complete the remaining pages.

This, of course, can change depending on the project's focus which you may want to change once you see the project develop. Web sites grow organically, once the project gets rolling and you become more educated on what is possible you may want to add elements.
